Taylor Food Marts, with six locations in Lubbock, have been bought out by Fikes Wholesale Inc. Terms of the deal were not released.
Fikes, "has successfully acquired the retail interests of 63 Taylor Food Mart Stores from Taylor Petroleum Company based in Amarillo," a company statement said Monday morning.
While Taylor has six locations inside the city, they have not all be operational. A representative with Fikes tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 that the priority is to restock locations that are still open, and then make a decision on locations have stopped daily operations.
The Taylor website lists 75 locations in Texas Oklahoma and New Mexico; and it was not clear which 12 were left out of the deal. Customers have recently complained that, in particular, Taylor locations had not been stocked with gasoline.
Fikes Wholesale Inc. is parent company of CEFCO Convenience Stores, based in Temple, TX with 194 locations. Monday's announcement brings the new total to 257.
