LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Another person has applied to temporarily take over the Lubbock ISD Trustee position recently vacated by Chris Comer, bringing the total to five.
As of Tuesday, the candidates are:
Mark O. Blankenship, partner, Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam Attorneys
Nettie Crawford, retired colonel, U.S. Air Force
Eddie Kirkpatrick, retired Lubbock firefighter
Robert L. Lin, president, FCI (owns and operates Abuelo's Restaurants)
Kathleen Nichols, dentist
Comer left to take a job in another city.
LISD released a written statement last month which said, "The Board of Trustees will select a successor to fill the vacancy until a special election in May of 2012, when voters will select someone to fill the position until May of 2014."
Comer's district was generally east of Frankford Avenue, west of Highway 87, and south of Loop 289.
