Ford Motor Company is recalling the 2004 and 2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey.
The torque converter output shaft can fail in these vehicles causing sudden loss of power with no warning and increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the torque converter for free. Ford is also recalling the 2001-2002 Ford Escape to replace a brake master cylinder reservoir cap that can leak brake fluid which could come in contact with the anitlock brake system and possibly cause a fire.
For more information, owners can contact ford's customer relationship center at 1-866-436-7332.
