Lubbock police accident investigators say an 18-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 4th street and Frankford Avenue at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday.
Ricky Lee Reed, 18, was transported to UMC.
Luis Salas, 21, was the driver of the car that struck Reed. No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing, police say.
Authorities say Salas was not speeding at the time and didn't break any laws.
Reed was in critical condition Wednesday night.
