Buddy Holly Festival Renamed

The annual Buddy Holly Festival will now be known as the Lubbock, Texas Music Festival. Negotiations over the naming rights of the festival were unsuccessful with Maria-Ellana Holly. So, that left the Lubbock Entertainment Task Force with the responsibility of finding a new name.

The festival's new name was officially announced at the Lubbock City Council meeting Thursday. This fall the music festival will promote and celebrate popular music from the past 60 years.
