City Approves Lou Fox's Salary

Lubbock's new City Manager is planning his move to Lubbock. Lou Fox was officially added to the city payroll on Monday. He will receive an annual salary of $185,000. The compensation package, including insurance and vacation is worth $258,745. That is the same package, Former City Manager Bob Cass received.

Fox officially begins work March 1st but he has been in Lubbock all week visiting with senior city staffers and reviewing city budgets. Fox says he's excited to make the big move to the Hub City. "I really appreciate the opportunity to serve the community. I'm excited about it. My family is excited about it. Trust me, I'll trust you to do our best to make Lubbock a better place."

Mayor Marc McDougal says Fox has rented an apartment in Lubbock and plans to move next Thursday. His family will join him after his son graduates high school in May.
