City Holds Off On Water Ordinance

If your sprinkler is running water into the street, you won't be fined, at least not yet. The City Council decided against voting on the water run-off ordinance. The proposal calls for fining residents who create run-off puddles with their sprinklers.

Mayor Marc McDougal asked the council to call off the vote, until the city stops wasting water. "I propose there are no fines issued until the City of Lubbock has every park and all our houses in control before we start fining our citizens."

Council members decided to re-visit the ordinance at a later date, once new City Manager Lou Fox has time to review it.
