ARKADELPHIA, AR (KCBD) -

A man who was accused of attempting to rape a woman at a Lubbock truck stop was killed in Arkansas Sunday night. Thirty-six year old Donald Hux was accused of holding a woman at knife point in the cab of his truck. The incident occurred in March of 2010 in the Chisum's parking lot on Slaton Highway.

A Lubbock Grand Jury indicted Donald Hux in March of 2010, but before he could stand trial for the crime, he would kill his ex-wife and her husband.

Police say that Hux shot Sandy Huckabee early Sunday morning. His body was found in Arkadelphia, AR. Hux then abducted his ex-wife and her three children.

Arkansas authorities launched a statewide manhunt for most of the day and found his car around 10 p.m. in a wooded area. When authorities approached the car, Hux shot and killed his ex-wife, Amy Huckabee. Police then opened fire and Hux was shot and killed.

Reports say that Huckabee's three children were dropped off somewhere before the shooting and that they are now safe, in Child Protective Custody.

The victims in this case, Sandy and Amy Huckabee, are distant cousins of the former Arkansas governor turned presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
