Rollover traps driver, sends two to the hospital

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two people were hurt Monday night in a one-car rollover.  Police, EMS, and firefighters responded. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to get the driver out of the car, who was trapped for roughly 30 minutes.

The driver, 25 year-old Wesley Hannon, suffered serious injuries. As of Tuesday afternoon he is in serious condition at UMC.

The passenger, 19 year-old Sammy Martinez, suffered relatively minor injuries. He was taken to Covenant and has been released.

Police say the car turned the corner of 82nd and Slide too fast and rolled over at about 11:05 p.m.
