Food For Thought 1.26

Posted: Updated:

It's been awhile since we've had any schools on our Food For Thought list, but Thursday a handful were grilled by health inspectors. Students are back from their winter breaks and now health inspectors are making sure the food on their lunch trays is making the grade. For a complete list of this week's high and low performers you can click on FoodforThought.

We start the ride on the road of perfection at Bayless Elementary at 2115 58th Street, the school served up a flawless inspection. Next we stopped at Dupree Elementary which also dished out trays of perfection.

Atkins Middle School at 5401 Avenue U sliced through the competition, and finally Mathews at 417 N. Akron finishes up the tour of perfection with zero critical violations.

Health inspectors are on a mission to keep the kitchens of your favorite restaurants clean, as well. They grilled more than a dozen Lubbock restaurants this week. We have a short order this week, but it's all good news! We have only two stops on our tour of perfection. Bigham's Smokehouse at 4302 19th Street sliced through the competition as a repeat Top Performer, and Texas Steak Express at 606 W. Loop 289 dished out a perfect score as well.
