Economy in Lubbock seems to be improving

LUBBOCK,TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock's economy appears to be doing better. New numbers from Lubbock National Bank show that 1,300 jobs were added in trade, transportation, and utilities.

About 900 new jobs were added in education and health services. Lubbock's professional and business services also added 400 new jobs.

This past December marked the lowest unemployment rate since 2008. Unemployment in Lubbock is around 5.5% right now.
