Two congressional candidates for District 19 voiced their opposition Tuesday to same-sex marriages.
Late Tuesday afternoon, District 17 Congressman Charlie Stenholm released a statement saying, "true, legal marriage can only exist between a man and a woman, and I believe that the sanctity of marriage must be protected."
Meanwhile, District 19 Congressman Randy Neugebauer said, "the institution of marriage as the social, legal, and spiritual union of a man and a woman has proven vital to the existence of society and the raising and protection of children."
