Anti-bullying program brings message to Lubbock students

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Students of Lubbock-Cooper and Laura Bush Middle School were introduced to an anti-bullying program on Tuesday.

Rachel's Challenge is a school program named for Rachel Scott.

Rachel was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999.

Her acts of kindness and compassion, along with the contents of her six diaries, have become the foundation for a life-changing, anti-bullying and anti-violence school program.

Rachel's story will challenge students to:

Leave a legacy of kindness, practice positive gossip, and start a chain reaction using program guidelines.

The school program claims to have prevented over 350 suicides since 2008 and prevented at least six instances of a school shooting.
