LISD Board Trustee Joins Race For City Council District One

Lubbock Independent School Board Trustee, Linda DeLeon joined the race for Lubbock City Council, District One, on Wednesday.

DeLeon is giving up her seat on the school board to run for city council and she believes that with the help of the community, she can make a difference.

"I know some of the concerns of the neighborhoods but we need to work as a collaborative body of the city council and work for the better good of the entire citizens of Lubbock." said DeLeon.

So far, District One is an uncontested race. Current City Councilman Victor Hernandez decided to resign in order to run for Municipal Court Judge. The city elections are May 15th.
