HALE CENTER, TX (KCBD) -

According to Hale Center Police Chief Dennis Burton, a man shot his daughter's boyfriend this morning around 9:30.

Ronald Lynn Trisler, 49, of Hale Center shot Ray Fernando Rodriguez Jr., 30. Rodriguez was from Amarillo, but was currently living with Trisler and his girlfriend.

Burton says Trisler's daughter called 911 after her father shot Rodriguez. Police responded to the apparent domestic dispute at 522 west 6th street in Hale Center and found Rodriguez had been shot in the torso.

He was taken to a Plainview emergency room where he died from his injuries around noon.

Trisler is in custody and was arraigned on first degree murder charges. His bond is set at $20,000.
