Eating too much could increase memory loss

Posted: Updated:

Eating too much appears to increase the risk of memory loss in older age. Researchers studied the daily diets of over 1,200 people over the age of 70. Those who consumed between 2,000 and 6,000 calories a day were twice as likely to have mild cognitive impairment, than those who ate less than 1,500 calories a day. In fact, calorie consumption was a stronger predictor of memory loss than common risk factors like stroke, diabetes, and education level.
