Tuesday morning, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donated a Bullard Eclipse thermal imaging camera worth more than $5,000 to the Slaton Volunteer Fire Department.
The donated device will detect body heat and hot spots in burning buildings, allowing firefighters to reach victims in half the time and put out potentially deadly fires.
Since 2005, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $217,000 to public safety entities in Texas. The foundation has donated more than $3.5 million to public safety entities in 275 communities across the nation since 2005.
