Jason Morton brings awareness to testicular cancer

Posted: Updated:

Jason Morton works at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, but he also spends a lot of time trying to bring awareness to testicular cancer because he is a survivor. He wants men to know about an organization called "Single Jingles".  It's a funny name to bring attention to a serious problem.

"The name is derived from the fact that one of the testicles is removed during a normal cancer procedure. The one thing that we like about the name is people do laugh about it. A lot of young men have a superman complex where they think that I'm fine, nothing wrong with me. I can beat whatever it is. No big deal. So the single jingles name help break the ice. Let the guys know that it's okay to go talk to your doctor."

Jason is making time to speak to area groups about testicular cancer, and encourage men to use a shower card as a reminder for that monthly self-exam. If you're interested in bringing Jason to your group as a speaker, just go to www.singlejingles.org.
