Police: Tuberville accident investigation closed

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock man injured in a crash with a car driven by Suzanne Tuberville has died.

87-year-old Ira Purdy died last Friday.

He and his wife were hit by Tuberville, who is the wife of Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville, in November while driving near 57th and Slide Road.

Tuberville was not hurt in the accident.

According to Sgt. Stewart with the Lubbock Police Department, no further charges are expected against Tuberville. She did receive a citation for running the red light, and the investigation is closed.
