Lubbock County Could Face Lawsuit Over Strip Club Issue

A Corpus Christi businessman is looking to file a $1 million lawsuit in federal court against Lubbock County. Lawrence Cannon's brother, Bobby Cannon, told NewsChannel 11 they're suing the county because of a first amendment violation.

The Cannon's wanted to open a strip club in southeast Lubbock County. Earlier this year, the county denied Cannon's application twice in one month because an RV was within 1,500 feet of the future club site. However, the Cannon's believe the county had the RV moved in order to deny the strip club permit. The county investigator says that is not true.

Bobby Cannon says they will be filing the complaint in federal court this week.
