LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Health inspectors have been checking up on Lubbock restaurants to make sure the food you are served is safe to eat. This week it seems to be all good news! They've got beef, and beer, and now they've got yet another Top Performer plaque. We go inside the kitchen of Triple J Chophouse to see how they keep clean.
Flaming, frying, and flipping up perfect scores since 2007. "We've just been practicing good food handling practices, we've been labeling everything, keep everything in good rotation, making sure to definitely clean up" Justin Zimmerman, manager of Triple J at 1807 Buddy Holly Avenue, says. It's full disclosure in the Chophouse's kitchen. "The good thing about our place is that it does have an open kitchen so a majority of the restaurant can see the kitchen and what everyone's doing so it keeps everyone on their toes" Zimmerman says.
Triple J dishes out plates of perfection along with a fully functional brewery. "We have 4, 15 barrel tanks, that's 473 gallons per tank, we're about to have the Raider Red come out, that one is always anticipated" Zimmerman says.
From beef to buns... Buns Over Texas at 3402 73rd Street grilled up a perfect score as well. Backdoor Diner at 1212 Avenue K dished up a flawless inspection. Simple Simon's Pizza at 3410 I-27 delivered zero critical violations. For a full list of this week's inspections click here.
