A legal settlement in a California court could mean free name brand make-up for women all across the country. You don't have to buy anything, you don't need a voucher or a coupon, all you have to do is show up when the giveaway is announced.
The settlement stems from lawsuits filed in California , among other things, the cases accuse cosmetics manufacturers and retailers of conspiring to keep prices artificially high. In other words, they never go on sale . If a judge approves the settlement, 175-million dollars worth of cosmetics will be given away at department store counters on a first come, first served basis.
Consumers will be able to request one free item, worth between $18 and $25. A California judge still has to give final approval before the give-away is scheduled. If you would like to find out if your make-up or retailer is on the lawsuit list, ( click here ).
