LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
American State Bank announced at a press
conference Monday morning that they are merging with Prosperity Bank
out of Houston.
Chairman of the Board for American State Bank W. R. Collier said he thinks the merger will take
place in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. They are waiting for approval from stock-holders, he said.
Collier said once
that happens there will be a name change and possibly some new job
opportunities. He also said
customers will not feel any initial impact from the change.
