Scuba Team Rescues Man From Playa Lake

A bizarre incident at a local playa lake is now under investigation.

Police found a man with water up to his shoulders in the playa lake near 92nd and Chicago around 2:30 Friday morning. Apparently, the man drove his car into the playa lake. He then stood on top of his car with his guitar in hand. The Lubbock Scuba Rescue Team was able to bring the man to shore.

The driver tells police he saw the water, but didn't realize it was a lake. He thought it was simply high water on the street from all the rain we've been having.
