Covenant Health System to offer free car safety seat checks

Provided by Covenant Health System

Following child safety seat laws is essential to keep children safe while out on the road. Make sure your child is traveling safely by attending the Covenant Health System Free Car Safety Seat Check on Friday, March 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kohl's Department Store, located at 3307 98th St.

Certified inspectors will check car seats to see if they are properly installed as well as provide information on car seat safety.

While 96 percent of parents and caregivers believe their child safety seats are properly secured, research shows seven out of 10 children are improperly restrained according to www.seatcheck.org.

Statistics show that motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 killer of kids. This is due to children not being properly buckled into their safety seats or parents not realizing their child may still need one.

Join Covenant this Friday to make sure you are familiar with the Texas child passenger safety laws and to be sure your child's car safety seat is properly secured.
