Weather causes college baseball/softball rescheduling

LUBBOCK, Texas Due to weather in the Fort Worth area, Texas Tech and TCU will play a two-game weekend series, with Friday's series opener canceled.

The Red Raiders (10-3) and Horned Frogs (5-6) will begin their weekend series on Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch at Lupton Stadium. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Duke von Schamann (2-1) will get the start for Tech on Saturday.

Tech and TCU will complete the weekend series on Sunday, Mar. 11, with a 1 p.m. first pitch. Junior right-handed pitcher Shane Broyles (2-0) will start for the Red Raiders in the series finale.

Tech softball will also make changes to its weekend schedule

The Texas Tech softball doubleheader against No. 23 New Mexico scheduled for Saturday has been pushed back to an 11 a.m. first pitch Monday morning at Rocky Johnson Field due to projected inclement weather in the Lubbock area.


Lubbock Christian University will play Sunday, Monday

Additional schedule changes to the Lubbock Christian University baseball schedule were made with the inclement weather impacting the South Plains.  The Chaparrals series with University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma is now scheduled to begin Sunday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Hays Field and it will resume Monday at noon for the Sooner Athletic Conference series completion.  In addition, the Chaparrals and Northwestern Oklahoma State University have pushed their three game SAC series to a Friday-Saturday series in Alva, Okla.
