Two TTU Football players arrested for credit card fraud

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two football players for Texas Tech University are facing felony charges after being arrested for credit/debit card abuse.

Jace Amaro, 19 and Kenneth Williams, 19, have been booked into the Lubbock County Jail. According to their booking information, the pair have been charged with two counts of credit/debit card abuse. Amaro has also been charged with misrepresenting his age.

Texas Tech University associate athletics director Blayne Beal released this statement Friday night:

"Texas Tech will allow the Lubbock Police Department to conduct its investigation into the matter involving two football student-athletes. Once that investigation has been completed and more facts are known, the university and head coach Tommy Tuberville will take appropriate disciplinary action if necessary."

According to Texas Tech's athletic website, Amaro is a Freshman from San Antonio and plays tight end for the Red Raiders. Williams is a Freshman from Pflugerville, Texas and plays running back.
