A tanker spill closed lanes in both directions around 7:30am Monday.
52-year-old Larry Snyder lost control of the tanker truck while exiting the North Loop at I-27. The truck overturned, spilling gas over the road. Hazmat crews spent 7.5 hours cleaning up the spill before the truck was uprighted just after 3 p.m.
The driver was charged with failure to control speed. Since the truck belongs to Town and Country Convenience Stores, the company will be responsible for the clean-up costs.
