A heartwarming Pay It Forward segment this week. Pay It Forward starts out in West Lubbock near the intersection of 34th and Milwaukee.
Our playmaker spotted us within 30 seconds. His name is Art Maestas. Art immediately thought of someone he works with, and it involved a road trip.
We immediately hit the road in search of our recipient, who volunteers and works in Post. This week's recipient is Craig Bigham.
Craig was teaching a middle school gym class in Post when we arrived. Art surprised Craig at the side entrance to the gym and counted out $300 to help him out.
We learned that Craig has a daughter named Brynne. Brynne was born with a mysterious medical condition and has been hospitalized 28 times in her short life so far. Craig says his daughter smiles all the time, despite her medical situation. He started a charity called Brynne's Smiles and he has a website where people can help children and their families in need.
People can continue paying it forward by donating to their charity at: http://brynnessmiles.blogspot.com/p/brynnes-smile.html
Craig was deeply touched by Art's gesture of hospitality. Craig says his life has been blessed and he thanks everyone who has helped him and his family during their various medical struggles. A truly heartwarming story can be found on their website.
Be looking for our "Pay It Forward" sign soon. You may become our next playmaker who helps someone in need.
