LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

City of Lubbock Chief Financial Officer Andy Burcham has submitted his resignation. KCBD NewsChannel 11 was able to confirm that he did so to take a job effective April 1 as the Texas Tech Assistant Vice Chancellor for Treasury and Cash Management.

Sources at City Hall say Burcham is one of the best in the whole country at municipal finance.

Burcham's soon-to-be boss, TTU System CFO Jim Brunjes, says "He's very good at what he does, and he's a good person."

Brunjes says Burcham will manage the university system's $700 million of cash investments to look for higher yields while minimizing risk.
