Lubbock Fire Department in rescue training this week

Posted: Updated:

Provided by Lubbock Fire Department:

On March 19, 20, and 21, the Lubbock Fire Department will be conducting rescue training on the water tower at 50th & Indiana.  Firefighters will be using high-angle rope rescue techniques to remove simulated victims from position on the ladder access and/or walkways.

We are aware that these activities will potentially provide a visual distraction to drivers in the area.  The Lubbock Fire Department would like to remind drivers that their first priority should always be the safe operation of their vehicle.  It is our hope to avoid injuries and inconvenience to the citizens that we protect by advising that this is only a training exercise.
