Basketball is the talk of the town in Shallowater, thanks to state titles by both the boys and girls this year. On Wednesday Congressman Randy Neugebauer recognized the teams championships on the house floor. "Shallowater is the home of champions. The players, Coach Chuck Darden and Coach Ray Morris will go down in history as the folks who put their town in the spotlight through determination and hard work."
The girl's class 2-A championship win a week and a half ago was the first ever state basketball title for Shallowater. The boys won the title last weekend in overtime.
