Food for Thought Report 3.18

Every week we bring you the reports on local and county restaurants and food establishments from city health inspectors. This week, almost 30 places were on the agenda. It's all good news, no one is a Low Performer, and there are five Top Performers, beginning with a long time Lubbock favorite.

We get things shakin' with Pete's Drive In at 529 34th Street. They get zero critical violations and that makes them a Food for Thought Top Performer. Family owned and operated, they've been making magic, along with burgers, fries and hot pastrami's to name a few, for 32 years in the same location. The restaurant is no stranger to perfection, having made the Top Performing list before.

Next it's Dave's Donuts at 4622 34th Street. It's a sweet story of success for Dave's as they earn a perfect score on their inspection report.

Smoothie King takes the throne again. Located at 4210 82nd Street, the king of smoothies is a repeat Food for Thought Top Performer, getting zero critical violations once again this week.

Aunt Norie's Confections at 5101 34th Street takes the cake, proving it's a piece of cake to earn a perfect score and a spot on the Top Performing list.

Fiesta Discount Grocery at 1807 Parkway Drive celebrates their perfect score--they also receive zero critical violations, making them a Food for Thought Top Performer.
