The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office along with the Texas Tech Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire that caused the evacuation of a dorm Sunday. The two alarm fire started just after 4:00 p.m. at the Gates Dorm on the Texas Tech campus.

The fire was contained to one room on the third floor, but smoke filled dorm rooms up to the fifth floor of the building. 360 students are housed in the dorm, but fire officials say almost half had not yet returned from spring break.

About 20 were displaced by the fire but were relocated by Texas Tech. There were no injuries.
