LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

In court records filed Tuesday, Texas Tech Head Football Coach Tommy Tuberville claims that he lost $450,000 in a hedge fund.  Tuberville and his business partner, John "David" Stroud, have been sued in an Alabama federal court and accused of investor fraud.

Tuberville claims he is a victim just like other investors, not a co-conspirator, and he is asking that his name be dropped as a defendant.

His motion says that other investors have falsely accused him. "Conspicuously absent from these sworn declarations is any assertion – much less any facts – that Coach Tuberville's statements … induced any of their investments."

Tuberville claims that the other investors have said in sworn statements that they had a previously relationship with Stroud.

Official documents from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission say that federal regulators are looking into Stroud.  But the CFTC does not mention Tuberville in a March 7th announcement about its investigation.
