Hundreds of Lubbock drivers encountered serious traffic problems on their way home Wednesday night.
Cars were bumper to bumper around 5:30 p.m. due to multiple car crashes on South Loop 289.
Traffic was moving at a snail's pace as police left only one eastbound lane open on the Loop near Indiana.
Authorities have not yet released a report, but we know at least four different accidents happened between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
There's no word about injuries suffered as of Wednesday night.
Witnesses on the scene tell us two on-ramps were closed near Quaker and Slide.
We're told that cars were lined up for more than four miles, stretching past the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
