Earnest Gentry woke up Sunday morning to find his house in flames. The single father searched for his 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, but the fire was too intense and he was unable to save them.

Gentry was brought to University Medical Center where he was treated for his burns. Fire officials are now investigating the cause of the fire.
