Rain chances return to the South and Low Rolling Plains this Easter weekend, ramping up from a slight chance late today to a likely chance by early Easter. Due to the scattered nature of the showers, some locations may miss out on the rain, but forecast data suggest some areas may receive beneficial amounts.
The Storm Prediction Center has identified the southeastern
one-third of the KCBD viewing area at a slight risk of severe storms Saturday
and Saturday night. The main threats will be strong winds and hail. While the
best chance of Easter rain will be in the early morning, a few lighter showers
may linger through the afternoon.
As our rain chances climb, our afternoon temperatures will fall. This afternoon will be quite warm, especially the southwestern KCBD viewing area where highs may hit the upper 80s. Easter afternoon highs will be a touch on the cool side, with some areas topping out only in the 60s.
