Lubbock Catholic Diocese holds 16th Annual 'Passion of the Christ' event

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

On Good Friday, the Lubbock Catholic Diocese held its 16th Annual "Passion of the Christ" reenactment.

The event started at 12:30 p.m. with a march at the corner of Erskine and Boston.

Parishioners of Our Lady of Grace church walked and meditated on the 14 stations of the cross.

The Stations of the Cross are devotionals which originated with Saint Francis of Assisi about 800 years ago. They are prayerfully enacted each Friday during Lent.

The devotional begins with Jesus' condemnation and ends with His crucifixion, death and burial.

The walk ended at Our Lady of Grace church on 3111 Erskine.

Diocese Bishop Placido Rodriguez said this was an excellent way for Catholics to participate and remember the passion of the Lord.
