LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech lost its series finale versus the University of Texas 14-3 Saturday. The loss comes after an emotional 7-6 14-inning win late Friday night thanks to a walkoff hit by Bryant Burleson.
However, Tech couldn't capitalize on several opportunities, including an early 1-0 lead after the first. The Longhorns didn't score a run until posting a four-run fourth inning, then added another run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to break the game open.
One positive for the home team included great fan support throughout the holiday weekend series. 11,709 fans attended the three-game set - which is the highest paid attendence at a home series since April 2006(vs Oklahoma).
The Red Raiders are now 3-9 in the Big 12(18-15 overall) heading into Wednesday's home matchup against Dallas Baptist.
