The State Bar of Texas says it intends to sue the prosecutor in the controversial 1999 Tulia Drug Bust.
The State Bar says its lawsuit against Hale County District Attorney Terry McEachern will be filed in the next two weeks. A finding against McEachern could mean penalties ranging from a public reprimand to the loss of his law license. He prosecuted all the cases in the undercover drug investigation that caught 46 people. Governor Rick Perry pardoned 35 of them last August.
Meanwhile, McEachern lost his bid for re-election earlier this month.
