Olympic Tour will be joining us in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

It was a packed house when Steve Penny, the CEO of USA Gymnastics announced the Olympics Tour will come to Lubbock for a winning performance.

It's called the 2012 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.

After the Summer Games finish in London, the gold medal contenders will light up the stage here in Lubbock at the United Spirit Arena.

So, you'll get to see the same Olympians you've rooted for on TV but instead of competing, they'll show off their talent in sort of a Cirque Du Soleil performance here on October 7th.

Steve Penny says the partnership with  USA Gymnastics, national travel, and KCBD is a natural fit and he's proud to bring the show to Lubbock.

Penny also says, "this tour is going to go all over the country.  It's going to be in some of the biggest cities in America and some of the biggest buildings in America. Los Angeles, Boston, New York City, Dallas, you know all over the country...  we just felt like Lubbock would be a great friendly place to bring the Tour and allow some folks from Western Texas to celebrate the Olympic Games with us."

Olympic Champion Nastia Liukin will be headlining the Tour along with other members of the 2012 Olympic Team.

Tickets went on sale Monday, April 23rd at all Select-A-Seat locations.
