Judge Denies Butler's Release

Former Texas Tech Professor Dr. Thomas Butler will remain in jail pending his appeal. On Wednesday Butler's attorney filed the notice of appeal to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. On Thursday, his attorney filed a motion for his release. A judge denied that motion on Friday.

Butler was convicted in December on 47 charges stemming from a January 2003 Bio-Terrorism scare.
