Lubbock Convention, Visitors Bureau Names New Leader

Monday, the Lubbock Convention and Visitors Bureau named Marcy Jarrett as its Executive Director.

It will be Jarrett's job to promote Lubbock, and attract tourists, events and sports teams to the city. Jarrett is the current Executive Director for the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Norman, Oklahoma.

She says she'll use the 'visitors' perspective to her advantage.

"I'm a visitor essentially, running a Convention and Visitors Bureau. So, I bring a different eye, looking at it through the eyes of a visitor, or a customer, looking what we can do to make Lubbock more visitor friendly and what we can do to show what Lubbock has." said Marcy Jarrett, the new Executive Director of the Lubbock Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Jarrett will start the job in May.
