LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Lubbock Police will issue
tickets to those who park or drive on City grass or landscaping. City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances Section 16-131 prohibits citizens from
keeping their vehicles parked in a City park. City officials want to
remind folks that the ordinance also includes grass on soccer fields or little
league baseball fields.
The city wants to avoid repairs or
replacement of irrigation sprinkler systems, which can be quite costly.
The upkeep of landscaping or replacement of turf can add up as well. The
goal is to keep costs down, they say, for residents to get the most enjoyment out of
local City parks.
