Tech Student Charged with Murder Reinstated at TTU

Troy Vincent Andrews was recently reinstated in classes and the dorms at Texas Tech, just days after posting a $30,000 bond in Harris County.

The 19-year-old Texas Tech Freshman is accused of fatally shooting 21-year-old Jaime Salazar following an argument on March 18 in Baytown, just east of Houston.

Tech Students Express Concern About Dorm Safety
After a Tech student living on campus is charged with murder, students have expressed concerns about doing background checks on students living in dorms.

Andrews fled the scene, but was arrested the next day. The Harris County District Attorney's office is still investigating the case and so far no trial date has been set.
