Miss Texas Visits Slaton High School to Discuss Health

"Health matters and character counts." That was the motto at Slaton High School as the school hosted a teen health conference

Students attended seven break-out sessions about a variety of health issues from nutrition to depression. Miss Texas Sunni Cranfill headlined the event, speaking to students about respecting the differences in others.

"Our society puts an emphasis on what people look like on the outside and it really is truly who they are on the inside and I think the younger we can talk to students, then the better off our society will be," said Cranfill.

Cranfill's speech included a message on respecting yourself enough to make the right decisions.
