Dallas Cowboys legend visits the Hub City

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Former Dallas Cowboy Charles Haley visited Lubbock Thursday to help promote the new Sam's Club. The five-time Super Bowl champion was humbled by the hundreds of fans who showed up to meet and greet the former defensive lineman/linebacker.

"These people made me who I am," said the Cowboys Ring of Honor member. "They came, they bought my tickets and they cheered for me, so this is just something in return."

The former sack artist played with the Cowboys from 1992-96, Haley retired in 1999 with over 100 sacks during his career. Workers, managers, and store patrons posed for pictures and requested autographs.

"We're here to mix and mingle with the employees and make the people happy."

The new store is located on the Marsha Sharp freeway west of loop 289.
