A new federal transportation bill passed by the U.S. House contains $16 million for the Marsha Sharp Freeway Project. The U.S. Senate approved their version of the bill earlier this year.
The bill now goes to a Senate/House committee to work out the differences.
When complete, the Marsha Sharp Freeway will be a limited-access highway between loop 289 in West Lubbock and I-27, North of downtown Lubbock.
