Grand Jury Clears Lubbock Police Officer

After considering the case of Scott Weems, a Parmer County Grand Jury decides not to indict the Lubbock Police Officer.

Officer Weems allegedly fired the shot that killed a 37-year-old man during a standoff in Friona, March 21st. Robby Lynn Vaughn kept police at bay for 15 hours after leading police on a chase through Swisher County. He also held a Friona family hostage for a short period of that time.

Weems returned to work with the Lubbock Police Department last week following the end of his paid administrative leave.
